An application that connects drivers and passengers to share rides, reduce costs, and promote more sustainable mobility.

1Lalana: A Carpooling Solution Tailored for the Malagasy Market
1Lalana is a carpooling application specifically designed for the Malagasy market. With increasing congestion in major cities like Antananarivo, rising transport costs, and environmental concerns, 1Lalana offers a practical, economical, and eco-friendly alternative to traditional transport modes. The application allows drivers to share their journeys with passengers heading in the same direction, thus reducing fuel expenses and carbon footprints. Furthermore, it helps alleviate urban traffic by optimizing the number of vehicles on the roads.
The 1Lalana application is structured into three main parts: the Back Office, the mobile application, and the website, all connected through a central server.
The back office is used by administrators and managers to ensure the smooth functioning of the entire platform. Key tasks include user management, moderation of carpooling ads, and monitoring financial transactions (such as payments and refunds). It is also responsible for handling disputes between drivers and passengers and verifying accounts (including identity or driver's license validation).
Additionally, the back office collects and analyzes key data, such as the number of active users, the most popular routes, high-demand areas for carpooling, and user behavior. This information helps administrators optimize features, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure a better user experience.
The 1Lalana mobile application serves as the primary interface for drivers and passengers. Available on both Android and iOS, it is designed for ease of use, even for technologically novice users. Drivers can offer their trips by specifying their starting point, destination, schedule, and available seats. Passengers can search for rides based on their location and book directly through the application.
The mobile app also includes messaging systems to facilitate communication between drivers and passengers, as well as secure payment options to ensure transaction transparency. A rating system allows each user to evaluate their experience, fostering trust and security within the carpooling community. Additionally, a real-time map enables passengers to track the driver’s route and know precisely where the vehicle is located.
The website provides all the necessary information for drivers, passengers, and users interested in carpooling in Madagascar.
The server connects the mobile application, the back office, and the website. It manages all user requests, including trip management, online booking, payments, and communication between drivers and passengers.
